The demonstration cabins include one module with kitchenette and lavatory, once module with two small offices and one single cabin similar to those offered to broadcasters.
Once completed, the International Broadcast Centre and the Main Press Centre will consist of three adjoining buildings, constructed from stacked cabins in sloped terrain. The IBC alone will be comprised of 78 cabins.
2000 square metres
The IBC will total approximately 2000 square meters. During next year's Nordic World Ski Championships in Holmenkollen, it will serve as the main working area for NRK Host Broadcaster, the European Broadcasting Union and ten rights holding broadcasters.
The services provided in the Press Centre, such as catering, information and general services, will also be available to accredited broadcast personnel.
The IBC/MPC area is conveniently located midway between the competition areas (Cross-Country/HS134 and HS106) and within walking distance to all media working areas at the Holmenkollen arena. The RTV compound will be located adjacent to the IBC.
The area is currently being levelled and prepared, and the cabin construction work will soon be in full swing.
The entire IBC/MPC facility is to be delivered by Cramo by 4th January.
