Snappet prisen fra Stargate

Den 53 årlige Grammy Awards gikk av stabelen i natt. Den gjeve prisutdeling regnes som musikkens svar på filmens Oscar.

De norske gutta fra Stargate, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen og Tor Erik Hermansen, høstet i natt prisen for beste danselåt sammen med Kuk Harrell og Sandy Vee. Med Rihanna-låta «Only Girl (In The World)» utkonkurrerte de Robyns «Dancing On My Own» og La Roux sin «In It For The Kill».

Arcade Fire fikk årets album

Stargate var også nominert i prisen Album Of The Year, årets album, sammen med en rekke andre samarbeidspartnere på Katy Perrys «Teenage Dream». Albumet nådde ikke til topps.

Det var det Canadiske indierockbandet Arcade Fire som fikk æren av å ta hjem den ærefulle prisen.

Med sitt kritikerroste «The Suburbs»-albumet vant de kveldens kanskje gjeveste pris.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga vant prisen for beste kvinnelig vokalfremføring inne sjangeren pop med sitt «Bad Romance», i tillegg vant hun også beste Pop-album med sitt «The Fame Monster».

Superstjernen stjal også showet da hun framførte sin nye single «Born This Way».

Eminem vant to priser i natt. Først for beste Rap-album med sitt «Recovery», deretter for beste solofremførelse innen rapsjangeren.

Rapperen var nominert til hele 10 priser. Dessuten framførte han sin hit «Love The Way You Lie» for et stjerespekket publikum.'

Årets mestvinnende

Lady Antebellum ble årets store prisvinner. Med hele fire priser i lomma, var det ingen tvil om hvem som ble den 53. Grammy Awards` gladeste jente. Årets plate, Årets låt, beste Country-låt og album. Alle med ”Need You Now”.

Den amerikanske rockeduoen The Black Keys hentet hjem to priser. Beste alternative album for sitt «Brothers» og best framførelse av rock med låta «Tighten UP»

Neil Young fortsatt på topp

Neil Young trenger vel ikke en større introduksjon. Den 65-årige artisten som debuterte med sitt selvtitulerte album «Neil Young» i 1969 etter tidligere og spilt i Buffalo Springfield holder fortsatt koken.

I 2010 gav han ut albumet «Le Noise», et album som overrasket verden med sitt preg av støyrock. Låta «New Fang» fra nevnte album vant prisen for beste rockelåt.
